Selection process:  on the basis of GATE 2014 score  (85% weightage) followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview with 15% weightage for both.
Note:
  • Selected candidates shall have All-India transfer liability.
  • Candidates as such may be posted to any Division/Unit/Subsidiary Company/Office of the Corporation

Eligibility:
  • Candidates must have qualified in GATE 2014 in the specified GATE 2014 Exam Paper (mentioned in the table above).
  • Candidates should have passed and awarded bachelor's degree in engineering/technology in the above mentioned disciplines (full time regular courses only) from recognized Indian Universities/ Institutes.
  • Candidates must have secured minimum 60% marks in qualifying degree examinations (50% for SC/ST/PWD candidates).
  • Candidates currently in final year of their engineering studies may also apply provided, they submit their final mark sheet by August 31, 2014 with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks upto the last semester examinations (relaxed to 50% for SC/ST/PWD candidates)

Age Limit: not more than 25 years as on June 30, 2014 (relaxation as per rules).


Salary
:
  • During the training period, HPCL Officer Trainees will be entitled for a consolidated Stipend of Rs 33,000/- per month.
  • Upon successful completion of training, they will be absorbed at the entry level in the Management Cadre in “A” grade in the Salary Scale of Rs 24,900 - 50,500, subject to fulfilling the required performance related/ other criterion.
  • They will be on Probation for a further period of 6 months.
  • In addition, they will be entitled to allowances at 50% of Basic Pay under Cafeteria Approach, Dearness Allowance, HRA, Contributory Provident Fund, Gratuity, and Superannuation Benefits as per Corporation’s policy in force from time to time upon absorption. 
  • The Cost to Company will be Rs 9.40 lakhs per annum approximately (may vary from metro cities and other locations)
  • A rentention amount of Rs 5000 will be deducted from the emoluments for the first six months of training
  • The amount will be refunded upon confirmation
  • The amount will be forfeited if the candidate leaves or is terminated before confirmation

HPCL Online Application Form:
  • Candidates have to register for GATE 2014.
  • Using the GATE registration number, candidates have to apply to Hindustan Petroleum on-line Available from November 6, 2013 
  • Candidates must upload the scanned copy of Passport size photo (in jpg/gif format less than 500 kb) at the time of submitting HPCL on-line application.
  • Upon successful submission, the system will a unique 12 Digit Application / Reference No. along with the completed application form.
  • Candidates are advised to take a print out of completed application, affix a recent passport size photograph in the space provided, put a signature at the specified place and safe keep it for future reference.
  • Candidates may note that the passport size photograph affixed by the candidate should be the same submitted along with GATE 2014 application form.
  • Candidates have to furnish this printed HPCL Application form during the Group Discussion/ Interview/Joining
  • They will also have to furnish the GATE 2014 Admit Card and GATE 2014 Original Score Card.
  • Candidates must ensure that the relevant particulars filled in the HPCL Application Form ahould match with those in the GATE 2014 Application Form

Application Fee: Rs 235 (Non -refundable application fees Rs 200 + Rs 35 Banking charges ) to be paid by General & OBC-NC candidates while applying for HPCL.

Application Fee Payment mode:
1. Offline: through SBI Challan
  • Print the SBI Challan while filling the HPCL Online Application Form
  • Pay the Application fees into the HPCL Powerjyoti A/C Number 32315049001 at any branch of SBI
  • Ensure that the bank stamps all three parts of the challan

Online: through Debit / Credit card:

HPCL Application Payment Status:
  • Candidates must ensure that the payment status is “Payment Received”.
  • For Offline payments, the payment received will be reflected within 3 to 4 working days
  • For Online payments, it is instantly reflected.
  • Candidates are advised to preserve the transaction printout/ challan copy after payment for future reference.
